Fin Size and Sail set up
Hey Guys,
I was out sailing this weekend with my wife, I was on a Mistral Superlight 2 with a Loft Switchblade 8.5, and my wife was on a Mistral One Design with a 7.8 Switchblade.
I seemed to be pointing alot highter than her, firstly on Saturday with about 5 knots of breeze, and again on Sunday with 15 knots of breeze.
Question is.....Would the fin size make the big difference in the pointing ability upwind?
I had a 42cm fin on the Superlight 2, and she has the original one design fin which I think is 34cm.
Sailis were rigged the same, except for the size difference, and my board has more volume. If we can put a 42cm fin in her board, do you think she would be able to point higher upwind?
Thanks guys,
Matt

Re: Fin Size and Sail set up
Fin change can make a slight difference, but probably the biggest difference is personal technique. Why dont you switch kit (not only fins) and try?
good winds
